Foundation Number 1: Access to Long-term Returns Across Asset classes

Cardea realizes the importance of accessing the embedded returns that capital markets are producing over the long term. A key element to our investment foundation is to have exposure to as many of these asset classes as possible.

 

Foundation Number 2: Strategic Asset Allocation / Asset Mix
The Mosaic Global Funds internal asset allocation model is produced from internal and external research and guides us in our overall allocation to the respective asset classes. The model is tested over a 7 year period and has proven to be very robust and producing returns in a variety of market climates.

 

Foundation Number 3: Diversification
Our diversification includes exposure towards all major asset classes including traditional global stocks and bonds as well as international stocks and bonds, commodities, real estate and also alternative investments such as hedge funds and managed futures. This very wide exposure is delivering long-term attractive returns at the same time as it protects our assets to the occasional fluctuations in markets.

 

Foundation Number 4: Mix between Passive Indexing and Active Alpha Generation
When allocating capital, we use a mix between passive and active managers with the majority of the liquid positions exposed taken through cost efficient investment vehicles like ETF’s to capture the return of that particular market which saves our clients money. For exposure to alternative managers, such as hedge funds and managed futures, we are allocating towards individual managers we feel have the skill set to outperform and produce alpha.
